Customer habits can change as fast as iPhones and apps. Staying on top of those changes is critical, just as is also staying on top of your competitors and what they are doing to respond to new customer preferences. Remember, many retailer long held on to the belief that customers would always prefer buying in a physical store over online shopping, and we know how that turned out.
